Combining science and the pub? Science Pub brings science and pub together.

At the Science Pub in Wilhelmshaven scientists from different disciplines in Wilhelmshaven present their current research in a relaxed pub atmosphere and in an entertaining, creative and understandable way.

The Institute of Avian Research also participates in this format. At Science Pub on 7 October 2025 at Kling Klang, Robert Rollins from the Institute of Avian Research spoke about ticks as “hitchhikers” of migratory birds and about how bird migration can contribute to the spread of ticks and pathogens.
