Avian research for young explorers

How do migratory birds find their way? Why do some birds migrate south and others do not? And what does bird migration have to do with genes, orientation and environmental change?

With IfV Goes to School, the Institute of Avian Research brings current research into the school context. Children and young people can discover scientific topics, ask their own questions and become communicators of knowledge themselves.

This includes the kids4kids – Bird Migration project, the Science Suitcase for teaching and creative educational offers such as the Bird of the Year 2021: Robin. The aim is to spark enthusiasm for research and to communicate avian research in a way that is understandable, lively and age-appropriate.
