Experience bird migration interactively – for young and old

As part of our pilot project kids4kids a mobile exhibition on the topic of bird migration was developed. It communicates scientific content in a vivid and interactive way and makes it accessible through many different channels that appeal to different senses.

The exhibition is suitable for use in schools, museums, educational institutions and events of various formats. It is designed so that visitors of all ages can use it. Across a total of five thematic modules, different aspects of bird migration are placed in focus – including general basics about migratory birds, different migratory strategies, migratory behaviour, orientation in migratory birds and methods and key questions of current research. The content is communicated through different approaches: interactive stations, playful elements and a virtual reality application provide varied access to the topic.

A special feature of the exhibition is „Vogelfunk“ („Bird Radio") – the integration of audio content from our kids4kids Podcast, in which the voices of the participating pupils can be heard. They guide visitors through the content and give the exhibition a personal and authentic perspective.

The exhibition was designed so that it can be used flexibly and, as a travelling exhibition – following the model of migratory birds – can be displayed in different places.
