In her exhibition „The Path Within“ artist Emilia Tikka connects art, natural science and questions of memory, inheritance and the future. The focus is on reindeer, their migration routes and the question of how experiences, environment and movement can leave traces across generations.

The project was created in collaboration with Miriam Liedvogel. She accompanied the art project scientifically and spoke with Emilia Tikka at the exhibition opening on the topic “Epigenetic Memories: On Migratory Birds, Reindeer Migrations and the Bioscience of Epigenetics”.

The exhibition shows how artistic perspectives can make scientific questions visible in new ways. It opens up a dialogue between research, art and society and makes clear how closely biological processes, environment and movement are connected.
