At the 159th Annual Meeting of the German Ornithological Society (DOG), Prof. Dr. Sandra Bouwhuis was awarded the 2026 Hans Löhrl Prize “for her pioneering long-term studies on common terns, her innovative contributions to understanding individual life histories and ecological change, and her outstanding commitment to knowledge transfer, supporting early-career researchers, and nature conservation.”
