My research focuses on the spatial and behavioral ecology of central European gull-billed terns (Gelochelidon n. nilotica). Specifically, I aim to obtain fundamental knowledge on the foraging ecology of these birds, as well as the ontogeny of their migratory phenotypes, and the effects of both on levels of environmental pollution, with the end goal of integrating this new knowledge into evidence-based conservation strategies (https://gelochelidon.de/).
