Animal facilities
The institute of avian research is well-equipped to house captive birds for experimental research, with husbandry adjusted to the specific needs of each species and project. Our animal facilities include a range of housing options, from cages to commercial aviaries, both indoors and in outdoor enclosures.
Our indoor facilities are fitted with a passive infrared monitoring system, enabling the detailed tracking of migratory behaviour. Additionally, we have a dedicated diet preparation area designed for the formulation of custom diets. These diets can be used for experimental manipulations or to meet the specific nutritional requirements of different bird species.
Our comprehensive setup ensures optimal conditions for avian research, supporting a wide range of experimental approaches.
