Report of a ring recovery

The Institute of Avian Research ‘Vogelwarte Helgoland’ in Wilhelmshaven manages all ringing and recovery data of birds ringed with 'Helgoland’ rings, and all foreign ring recoveries in the jurisdiction of the institute (Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse).

We therefore kindly ask you to report to us all ring recoveries (with ‘Helgoland’ or other rings) made in our area. When you have found a ringed bird, or have read the ring number of a live bird, please fill in the online form on the EURING website. This form generates an automatic e-mail with the recovery data to the ringing centre.

For alternative methods of reporting a ring recovery, please see the German version of this site.

Your report is an important contribution to the study of the lives of wild birds, and helps conserving our bird fauna!
